Ha Noi city, Sep 22nd, 2013 – Today, Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) organized the final round of Toyota National Skills Contest 2013 at dealer - Toyota Giai Phong, Phap Van Branch, Phap Van highway, Hoang Liet ward, Hoang Mai district, Ha Noi city.
In the 15th implementation, Toyota National Skills Contest 2013 is organized with 4main contents including: Sales, Body Repair, Paint Repair and Customer Care. This year, TMVcontinues using the content of customer care skill for the Contest, to affirm that TMV always step-by-step targets the perfection and profession for the highest satisfaction of customers.With the target of continuously improving the customer service and bringing customers the highest satisfaction, since 1999, Toyota Skills Contest has been organized annually by TMV and Dealers with a view to enhance the knowledge and skills of the frontline staff from all Toyota’s dealers nationwide. Through the Toyota National Skills Contest 2013, TMV not only wishes to encourage the front line staffs to improve their knowledge and skills at sales and service fields, but also orients them to continuously improve the service quality in bringing customers the highest satisfaction. This is also a specific action for TMV’s unceasing efforts in human resource development and increasing quality of after-sale services.
Attending Toyota National Skills Contest 2013, there are total 36 contestants, including: 9 Sales staffs, 9 Body Repair technicians, 9 Paint Repair technicians and 9 customer care staffs. They are all excellent candidates selected from 112 representatives of 28 dealers and branches of Toyota nationwide in the qualifying round in July.
In the final round, all contestants of the above categories must show the ability and skills at the two basic parts: theory and practice (for body repair and paint repair). In the theory part, the candidates have to answer multiple choice questions by raising boards or written form. In the practice part, the Body Repair and Paint Repair technicians can show their professional skills in: panel repair, sealer applies, measuring dimension of the accdident frame to decide the best restore method. The painting contest is the opportunity for technicians to repair body and paint in all steps such as solid calor matching, metallic color matching and spraying. Situations about body and paint repairing will be sum up from actuality so that technicians must meet the strict requirements of customers meanwhile they still have to ensure of time, quality and service fee.Especially, the customer care part simulates the situations of resolving customer complaints, this part requires the candidates to master about products, general knowledge about automobiles, activeness in communicating with customers and have good speaking and presentation skills to be able to initially resolve customer complaints.Regarding the sales category, the practice points are evaluated through carrying out the professional car delivery process according to Toyota’s standards.
To successfully surpassing all these categories, the candidates have not only showed their professional workmanship (Body Repair and Paint Repair technicians), complaint solving skills (customer care staffs) as well as professional manners, carefulness and whole-heartedness to customers (sale staffs). All for the final purpose is to bring the highest satisfaction to the customers as well as confirming the quality of service and dedicated and professional with hearts of Toyota’s staffs and technicians.
The awards for 9 winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for 4 contents of Toyota National Skill Contest 2013, beside material award, will be an interesting tour visiting Japan in the next year. Especially, the first prized contestants of 3 categories Body Repair, Paint Repair and Customer Care will continue to compete with others in the 24th International Champion Assembly that will be held in Japan by the end of 2014.
Speaking at the final round of the contest, Mr. Maruta, TMV’s President said: “I would like to re-affirm our vision, that is to continue to be the most favourite brand. No matter what happens, we must head for this vision. And, our specific goals are CS No. 1, CR No.1, and No. 1 in Market Share. In terms of CS, to achieve No. 1 position, Human Resources, especially training is the most important factor. Besides customers, we also focus on our employees’ satisfaction who need to be motivated. They can only satisfy customers when they themselves are satisfied. Under that way of thinking, this Skill Contest is a significant activity between TMV and Dealers to enhance training activities and high spirit among all dealers’ staff”.
Continuous improvement of the human resources development in after sales service is one of the most important factors in TMV’s development strategy. Therefore, not only training courses for technicians and services staffs of Toyota’s dealers but additional training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills for TMV’s staffs are hold frequently. Especially, continuously upgrading the teaching aids for Northernism and Southern training center to standard requirements of global Toyota, TMV has been encouraging development abilities as well as the professional skills of the staffs in responding to the increasing demands of customers.

Same as previous Skill Contests, Gamma Engineering Corp. is the only equipment supplier assigned by TMV to have the booth in the yard to introduce new repair technologies.

In the first 8 months of 2013, sales record of TMV achieved over 20,000 units, increasing the accumulated sales to over 250,000 units. There have been 15,000 turns of service in Jan-Aug 2013 period. In order to meet further demand of our customers, TMV continuously opens more dealers in provinces/cities nationwide, until now, the total dealers/dealer branches and TASS of TMV is 35.
